Apparatus
The Duxbury Fire Department uses and maintains a wide array of vehicles that help achieve the mission of protecting the people of Duxbury. Take a tour of the Apparatus Bay to see some of the vehicles in use.
Fire Apparatus

Ladder 1
2003 Pierce Dash
Ladder 1 is a 2003 Pierce Dash aerial quint. Ladder 1 has a 105' four-section aerial ladder along with a large assortment of ground ladders. Also equipped is a 2,000 gallon-per-minute pump and a 400 gallon booster tank. Various-sized attack and supply lines are carried. Scene lighting runs along the entire exterior to provide illumination at emergency scenes. On the front bumper sits the original bell from our 1922 American LaFrance/Brockway engine that served the Town of Duxbury for many years.

Engine 1
2018 Pierce Dash CF
Engine 1 is a 2018 Pierce Dash CF PUC pumper. It is equipped with a 750 gallon water tank and a 1,500 GPM pump. Engine 1 also carries ALS medical equipment, a full complement of firefighting equipment, and the Jaws of Life, among other tools.

Engine 2
2016 Pierce Dash CF
Engine 2 is a 2016 Pierce Dash CF PUC pumper. It is equipped with a 750 gallon water tank and a 1,500 GPM pump. Engine 2 also carries ALS medical equipment, a full complement of firefighting equipment, and the Jaws of Life, among other tools.

Engine 3
1995 E-One Sentry
Engine 3 is a 1995 Emergency One Sentry custom 1,500 GPM pumper that was purchased in May 1995. Engine 3 was refurbished in December 2012 and placed back in service in 2013. It is powered by a 6-cylinder Cummins 300-HP diesel engine with an Allison 5-speed automatic transmission. It carries 750 gallons of water and 1,000 feet of 4-inch supply hose as well as lesser amounts of 1 3/4-inch hose and 2 1/2-inch hose. It has a FoamPro Class A/B foam system and two 20-gallon foam cells. It also carries the Jaws of Life and a full complement of firefighting equipment.

Truck 47
2025 Pierce/International
Truck 47 is a 2025 urban interface pumper built by Pierce Manufacturing on a four-wheel-drive commercial International chassis. This vehicle replaced a 1988 custom Maxim International brush breaker. Truck 47 carries 750 gallons of water and is equipped with a 1000 GPM pump and has seating for four firefighters. This unique vehicle will be utilized to respond to brush fires and severe weather events. The versatility of this four-wheel-drive vehicle will allow firefighters to respond to emergencies off paved roads, in deep snow, and in soft sand. In addition to water, this vehicle will carry a full complement of firefighting tools. This is an added feature over our old brush breaker. Another improvement is the ability to carry more hose for firefighting. Truck 47 will carry a full complement of 1-inch forestry hose, 1.75-inch attack hose, and 2.5-inch supply/attack hose.

Truck 48
1988 Maxim/International
Truck 48 is a 1988 custom Maxim brush breaker built on International model 1854 four-wheel-drive chassis with a 28,000-pound GVW. It has a 210-horsepower International DT-466C turbocharged diesel engine with Spicer 5-speed manual transmission and air brakes. This truck was designed around other brush breakers in the area but has many other features that make it more versatile. It carries 750 gallons of water, has a gasoline-powered portable pump rated at 350 GPM, a FoamPro 1601 Class A foam system, and carries 1 3/4-inch hose for structural firefighting and 1-inch forestry hose for natural cover fires. This truck was refurbished in 2008, along with its twin Truck 47.

Truck 49
2016 Ford F-550 BRAT
Truck 49 is a 2016 Ford F-550 Brat that was obtained through a federal grant written by a Duxbury firefighter in 2015. It has a 300-gallon water tank with a pump, which allows it to fit in tight areas to fight forest fires.
Ambulance

Ambulance 1
2020 Dodge Ram 5500
Duxbury Fire Ambulance 1 is a 2020 Ram 5500. A1 is an ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulance that carries all the life-saving equipment and medications that our firefighter/paramedics use in the field.

Ambulance 2
2022 Dodge Ram 5500
Ambulance 2 is a 2022 Dodge Ram 5500 4X4 with a Horton Box. It was placed in service in May 2022 and is an ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulance.

Ambulance 3
2017 Dodge Ram 5500
Ambulance 3 is a 2017 Ram 5500. It serves as an ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulance, carrying all the life-saving equipment and medications that our firefighter/paramedics use in the field.
Command Vehicles

Car 1
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe
Car 1 is a 2021 Chevy Tahoe that serves as the Fire Chief's Command vehicle. It's equipped with portable fire extinguishers, portable lighting, medical equipment, and basic firefighting tools. Car 1 also has two-way radios in the back allowing the chief to communicate with surrounding fire departments during major incidents. It is also set up with a workspace for viewing maps, floor plans, and for using a laptop computer.

Car 2
2024 Chevrolet Tahoe
Car 2 is a 2024 Chevy Tahoe that serves as the Deputy Chief's command vehicle. It's equipped with portable fire extinguishers, portable lighting, medical equipment, and basic firefighting tools. Car 2 also has two-way radios in the back allowing the Deputy Chief to communicate with surrounding fire departments during major incidents. It is also set up with a workspace for viewing maps, floor plans, and for using a laptop computer.

Car 3
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe
Car 3 is a 2023 Chevy Tahoe that serves as the Shift Commander's vehicle. It's equipped with portable fire extinguishers, portable lighting, medical equipment, and basic firefighting tools. Car 3 also has two-way radios in the back allowing the captain to communicate with surrounding fire departments during major incidents. It is also set up with a workspace for viewing maps, floor plans, and for using a laptop computer.

Car 4
2018 Chevrolet Tahoe
Car 4 is a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe that serves as the Captain's command vehicle. It's equipped with portable fire extinguishers, portable lighting, medical equipment, and basic firefighting tools. Car 4 also has two-way radios in the back allowing the Captain to communicate with surrounding fire departments during major incidents. It is also set up with a workspace for viewing maps, floor plans, and for using a laptop computer.

Car 5
2018 Chevrolet Tahoe
Car 5 is a 2018 Chevy Tahoe that serves as the Shift Commander's vehicle and a training/community EMS vehicle. It's equipped with portable fire extinguishers, portable lighting, medical equipment, and basic firefighting tools. Car 5 also has two-way radios in the back allowing the captain to communicate with surrounding fire departments. It is also set up with a workspace for viewing maps, floor plans, and for using a laptop computer.
Support Vehicles

Squad 1
2022 Ford F350 Utility
Squad 1 is a 2022 Ford F350 4X4. It is equipped with portable fire extinguishers, portable lighting, medical equipment, and an assortment of hazardous material equipment and firefighting tools. Squad 1 is also used to tow our boats and all our emergency trailers.

Squad 2
1992 International
Squad 2 is a 1992 International/Front Line ambulance that was converted to our Dive Truck. It was refurbished in 2012. It now carries all of our equipment for our specialized Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team. It carries such things as wet and dry dive suits, dive tanks, weights, and a small generator with portable lighting for night emergencies. This truck can also tow either of our boats to an emergency.
The beneficial mission of this truck is that when it arrives on scene, our divers can get their suits on in a heated/cooled environment out of the view of on-lookers. They can also use it as a rehab area when they come out of the water.

Marine 1
2009 Parker
This 2009 Parker is named the "William B. Luce Jr." in memory of a Duxbury call firefighter who died in the line of duty at a house fire in Duxbury in 1982.

Marine 2
2021 Inflatable
Marine 2 is an inflatable Zodiak style boat. This watercraft is used on the small ponds and lakes throughout Duxbury.

ORV-1
2025 Polaris Ranger
ORV-1 (Off-Road Rescue Vehicle) is a 2025 4x4 Polaris Ranger XP1000. This unit is equipped with an EMS skid unit capable of rapid patient extrication from beach and forest areas with ease. It also carries EMS equipment and some basic firefighting equipment. This unit was acquired through a grant.
