Chief Officers

Rob Reardon
Chief of Department/Paramedic
Rob Reardon was appointed as a career firefighter on August 28, 2002. He went on to serve as Captain and Deputy Chief before being appointed Chief of Department on July 15, 2022. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Fire Science and Communications, and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program and the Chief Fire Officer Program through the Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Brian Monahan
Deputy Fire Chief/EMT
Brian Monahan was appointed a career firefighter on March 13, 2000. Having also served as Captain, he was promoted to Deputy Chief on July 15, 2022. Deputy Chief Monahan is also a member of the Plymouth County Fire Chiefs Association, Major Operations Support Team. Deputy Monahan holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration. Deputy Chief Monahan is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, and the University of Massachusetts Boston, Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management Chief Fire Officer Program.

Captain

PJ Hussey
Fire Captain/Paramedic
PJ Hussey was appointed a career firefighter on May 8, 1995. He was promoted to Captain on March 31, 2014. He is a Master Electrician, has a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science and also holds a Construction Supervisor License. He has received many Department of Fire Service Certifications, including Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II and Fire Prevention Officer II. He recently received the Massachusetts Firefighter Service Award for 30 years as a dedicated career firefighter. Captain Hussey serves as the shift commander of Group 1.

Alex Merry
Fire Captain/Paramedic
Alex Merry was appointed a call firefighter on September 10, 2001, and a career firefighter on January 3, 2005. He was promoted to captain on July 26, 2019. He serves as the administrative captain, the department's training, and technical rescue coordinator. Captain Merry is also the director of the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team, and a member of FEMA USAR MATF-1.

Jack Ahern
Fire Captain/Paramedic
Jack Ahern was appointed a call firefighter on October 6, 2009, and a career firefighter on August 15, 2011. He was promoted to captain on September 16, 2019. He serves as shift commander of shift 2 and the dive coordinator. Captain Ahern is a Rescue/Dive Specialist on the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team. He has also served our Country as a combat medic in the United States Army, 25th infantry division.

Doug Cunningham
Fire Captain/EMT
Doug Cunningham was appointed a call firefighter on September 10, 2001, and a career firefighter on January 27, 2003. He was promoted to captain on March 1, 2021. He serves as shift commander of shift 4.

Keith Nette
Fire Captain/Paramedic
Keith Nette was appointed a call firefighter on February 20, 2008, and a career firefighter on June 9, 2014. He was promoted to captain on July 15, 2022. He serves as shift commander of shift 3. Captain Nette is the department's communications coordinator and is member of the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team.

Kirsten Piper
Firefighter/Paramedic
Kirsten Piper was appointed a career firefighter on October 30, 2006. She was the first career female firefighter in Duxbury. She serves as the department's emergency medical services (EMS) manager, and the Infection control officer. She is also an instructor for CPR, ACLS, PALS, and Handtevy programs. She holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science. Additional certifications include: advanced open water diver, structural collapse technician, confined space technician trench technician, and fire inspector.

Mike Cardoza
Firefighter/Paramedic
Mike Cardoza was appointed a career firefighter on February 1, 2010. He is assigned to shift 2. He is a member of the department's dive team and is a dive specialist on the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team.

Dennis Mikkola

Dennis Mikkola was appointed a call firefighter on September 10, 2008, and a career firefighter on July 19, 2010. He is assigned to shift 2.

Mike Gillis
Firefighter/Paramedic
Michael Gillis was appointed a call firefighter on June 15, 2004, and a career firefighter on September 6, 2011. He is assigned to shift 3. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science.

Jen Stratton
Firefighter/Paramedic
Jen Stratton was appointed a career firefighter on December 1, 2014. She is assigned to shift 1. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science. She is a member of the department's honor guard.

Matt Bryer
Firefighter/Paramedic
Matt Bryer was appointed a call firefighter on July 6, 2015, and a career firefighter on January 11, 2016. He is assigned to shift 2. He is a member of the Department's dive team. He is also a member of the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team.

Justin Stratton
Firefighter/Paramedic
Justin Stratton was appointed a call firefighter on July 31, 2012, and a career firefighter on July 10, 2017. He is assigned to shift 4. He is the coordinator for department's honor guard.

Kevin Heath
Firefighter/Paramedic
Kevin Heath was appointed as a career firefighter on April 16, 2019. He is assigned to shift 1. He is the Department's SCBA, PPE, equipment, and stations coordinator.

Steve Maccini
Firefighter/EMT
Steve Maccini was appointed as a career firefighter on May 14, 2019. He is assigned to shift 4 and serves as the department's mechanic and apparatus coordinator. He is a member of the department's dive team. He is also a member of the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team.

Pat Dwyer was appointed as a career firefighter on July 15, 2019. He is assigned to shift 1. He is a member of the public education team.

Zach O'Sullivan was appointed as a career firefighter on July 15, 2019. He is assigned to shift 4.

John Rota

John Rota was appointed as a career firefighter on January 2, 2020. He is assigned to shift 4. He is the department's public education team coordinator and social media coordinator. He is also a member of the public education team, the social media team, and the department's honor guard.

Tom Brandt was appointed as a career firefighter on February 22, 2021. He is assigned to shift 3. He is the departments Public Information Officer (PIO). He is also a member of the public education team, the social media team, the Department's honor guard and the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team.
