Eversource
Life Support Notification Program
If someone in your household requires electricity to power life-sustaining medical equipment, Eversource wants to ensure we can properly support you during a storm or other emergency that may cause power outages. If you or a loved one requires life support equipment, contact Eversource customer service at 800-592-2000 to apply for a “Life Support Equipment Certification”.
Benefits of Certifying
-
Enhanced Communication. For customers relying on electricity to power life-sustaining medical equipment, power outages can be life-threatening. Once your medical condition has been certified by your doctor, we may contact you during a power outage to ensure your safety and well-being.
-
Community Support. We also partner with your town. If we’re unable to contact you during a power outage, your address may be provided to your town leaders so that they can check on your safety.
Please note that certification does not prioritize your service for faster restoration in the event of a power outage. We encourage you to have an alternate source of energy in the event of a prolonged electric interruption. This certification has no impact to medical protection already applied to your account.
Senior Safety
Seniors, aged 65 and older, are at a higher risk of dying in a fire. You can significantly reduce this risk by practicing fire safety in your home.
